As the country moves forward with Covid-19 and restrictions are being lifted , Care Homes are still governed very differently.
People Living in care homes are susceptible to infections of many different kinds not just Covid-19 once an infection comes into the environment it can be difficult to clear the home of it.
Care homes are led very much where visiting is concerned by Public Health England and Local Infection Control Teams.
Should 2 people staff or residents or a mix of both contract the same infection and they are seen to be linked we are advised to close our doors to visitors.
As a Home Pingley Court works hard to ensure infection does not spread to all areas to assist in keeping visits open for at least the unaffected areas.
This has always been the case.
Care Homes in Sheffield and the wider country have been given guidance to ensure safe numbers attend the care home within the day this is the reason behind the appointment system.
We will continue to have visits in the following areas at all times while free from infection.
Out door – courtyard front and lower ground No PPE required but safe distancing still advised.
Pod – No mask or PPE once inside.
Outings No PPE but we ask you to be mindful of where you visit and the protection of your relative by use of Masks and hand sanitisers.
Floor visits – hand sanitiser on arrival Mask worn to the room then you can wear a visor so your relative can see you.
Before any visit:
We will still ask for a negative Lateral flow.
We will still take your temperature.
We will ask you to sign a disclaimer.
In the event of an infection being present we will always advise on how you can visit – This is why arrangements change sometimes on a weekly even a daily basis.
I am sorry if this causes distress and is seen as an inconvenience but the safety and the health of everyone is of upper most importance to us.
Any questions please ask Management
